Mars CME Scoreboard
About
Developed by the Community Coordinated Modeling Center (CCMC), the Mars CME Scoreboard serves as a research-based pre-event forecasting validation platform.
It offers a centralized location for the space weather community to:
- Submit real-time forecasts
- View all submitted forecasts instantly
- Compare different forecasting methods after an event's arrival
Latest News/Updates
- TBD
Disclaimer
If you are looking for the official U.S. Government forecast for space weather, please go to NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center. This "Experimental Research Information" consists of preliminary research products and should be interpreted and used accordingly.

CCMC Rules of the Road: CCMC requests that users notify the CCMC, CME model/technique developers and submitting forecasters/researchers before performing event and validation studies with data from the CME Arrival Time Scoreboard. It is recommended that such studies be performed with the knowledge and collaboration of developers and submitting forecasters/researchers.
Observed CME Arrival Time
The Mars research community collaborates with the CCMC and M2M-SWAO to provide observed CME arrival times.
Accessing this system
- Submitted predictions are publicly viewable.
- Registered users can submit CME shock or cloud-front arrival time forecasts after logging in.
- To submit a forecast: Locate your CME under "Active CMEs," click "Add Prediction," and choose your forecasting "Method Type."
- Power Users: If a matching CME isn't listed, click "Add CME" (email M. Leila Mays to request power user access). To input the actual arrival time, click "Edit CME" after entering your predictions.
- To register for an account, email M. Leila Mays with your name, affiliation, and email address.
- Refer to "CME Propagation Models" for a list of registered methods and information on adding your prediction method/model.
Communication
- To receive periodic announcements and/or automated email notifications when a new CME is added to the Mars CME Scoreboard, please send an email to M. Leila Mays with your name and email.

CME Propagation Models
This is a subset of space weather forecasting CME propagation models/methods (see below for references) that can be selected as the CME arrival time "Prediction Method" in the Mars CME Scoreboard. If you would like to register your prediction method, please send an email to M. Leila Mays with your model/technique details. All prediction methods are welcome, and all are encouraged to participate in this research activity.
