GITM Updates

June 2026

The latest version of the Global Ionosphere-Thermosphere Model (GITM) V25.11 is now available through the CCMC Runs-on-Request (RoR) service via this URL.

This release includes major updates to chemistry, electrodynamics, temperature formulations, auroral precipitation, EUV forcing, regional high-resolution capabilities, eclipse modeling, and additional species support. The model has also been extensively validated against GOCE, GUVI, and GNSS TEC observations.
