CCMC Support of CLEAR

The Center for All-Clear Solar Energetic Particle Forecasts (CLEAR), led by principal investigator Dr. Lulu Zhao at the University of Michigan, is building  a comprehensive prediction framework for solar energetic particles.  You can learn more about the project on the NASA and University of Michigan CLEAR webpages.

This page describes CCMC support of the CLEAR project and CCMC hosted deliverables. CCMC anticipates onboarding and hosting CLEAR data and model deliverables across CCMC RT/Continuous Runs, SEP Scoreboard, Flare Scoreboard, and ROR.

Deliverables

  • SWMF/M-FLAMPA, and companion EEG tool to generate parameters, are available on CCMC ROR. This model combination is also called SOFIE. CCMC has implemented the ROR setup such that it can be used for RT prototyping, using parameters derived in RT from the EEG tool, by GSFC M2M SWAO. In later stages of CLEAR the EEG parameters will be generated automatically, to drive RT SOFIE simulations.
  • SEP Benchmark Dataset
